Helen MacDonald-Prideaux knew Pilates was to play a significant role in her life from the age of 23, over thirty years ago.
“I first experienced the magic of Pilates as a dance student in my early 20’s and since then it has remained my go-to body and mind ‘conditioner’ ever since. Taking Pilates from a passion to a dedicated profession I have since delighted in sharing the profound effects with many others. What I have seen many times over, teaching Pilates, is the joy that it brings to those finding new ways to take control of their physical body and mind. I am very excited to bring to each session not just years of teaching experience but valuable movement observations that have come from working with hundreds of different bodies".
Helen MacDonald-Prideaux has been teaching Pilates for nearly 20 years; first qualifying in 2004 as a Stott instructor in both matwork and equipment training. Then in 2016, Helen took the opportunity to study further with the Body Arts and Science Institute(BASI) and so deepening her knowledge of the Pilates repertoire to teach and inspire many others.
“I believe Pilates can be for every ‘body’ if taught with knowledge, commitment and compassion. Ongoing education means I stay passionately interested and aware of important developments in the Pilates profession enabling me to deliver the best to all those I am privileged to teach”
“My ethos is to embrace a full and active life, both personally and professionally while helping others to do the same, gaining the most from the bodies they have. I love the outdoors, cycling and hiking with family and friends and embracing the beautiful countryside where I am lucky enough to live".
"I have adored my Pilates career but I think my most celebrated achievement is being a mother to my three grown-up daughters and wife to my nearly grown-up husband!”
